Senior Software Engineer (.NET)

Location: Galway (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)
Salary: €70,000 – €85,000 (DOE)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

A well-established, international technology company is seeking a Senior .NET Software Engineer to join its growing engineering team based in Galway. This role offers the chance to work on scalable, enterprise-grade systems used by customers worldwide, while contributing to modern product development in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to technical decisions, and help mentor less experienced developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using .NET / C#

• Build and enhance user-facing applications using modern frontend frameworks

• Contribute to architecture discussions and technical decision-making

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

• Participate in code reviews and promote best engineering practices

• Collaborate with product managers, QA, and other stakeholders

• Support and mentor junior and mid-level engineers

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional software development experience

• Strong expertise in .NET / C#

• Experience with Angular (preferred) or other modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Vue)

• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and web application architecture

• Experience working with relational databases (e.g. SQL Server)

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar)

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Experience working on large-scale or enterprise systems
